Installing Ecoraster Bloxx Permeable Interlocking Paver System at Muskoka Conservancy and Riverstone Environmental Solutions

Located in Bracebridge, Ontario, the head office for the Muskoka Conservancy and Riverstone Environmental Solution is a historic facility.

With a focus on creating and protecting nature reserves and as natural environment consultants, all the necessary retrofits and renovations to the building were done in a sustainable manner.

In need of a new permeable parking lot surface, it was only fitting that they gravitate towards a solution that was fully sustainable and ecofriendly.

They were introduced to the Ecoraster permeable paving system by Fowler Construction and immediately knew that Ecoraster would provide them with the perfect answer.

They decided to go with a combination of Ecoraster E50 filled with locally-sourced black granite chip and grass, as well as the Ecoraster Bloxx permeable interlocking paver system, using both concrete and recycled rubber permeable pavers.

Installed by Fowler Construction in June 2017, the porous parking lot is truly a perfect example of how permeable paving can be incorporated into existing commercial facilities.

Ecoraster’s products are permeable and will ensure stormwater management on-site in an effective and efficient manner. The Ecoraster system will remain level, stable, and dust free, ensuring the environmentally-friendly paving is universally accessible for the clients and visitors.

As the winter maintenance contractor for this business, Fowler will be closely monitoring this year’s salt & sand usage. They are encouraged by the fact that there could be potential reductions, saving their customer money while protecting the beautiful surrounding ecosystems.
